The 2013 Australian federal election will elect members of the 44th Parliament of Australia. Prime Minister Julia Gillard has announced it will be held on 14 September 2013. No writ of election has been issued, and the date is thus still subject to change, though it must be held no later than 30 November. The centre-left Labor minority government she leads will attempt to win a third term against the opposition centre-right Coalition led by Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, a Liberal.
